Police increasing patrols in Kingsway after anti social behaviour
Five teenagers were arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
Gloucestershire Police will be increasing their patrols around Kingsway after reports of anti social behaviour by a group of teenagers on Wednesday (1 March).
The four teenagers, all from Gloucester, were arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. They've now all been released on bail whilst police continue their investigation.
On Thursday night, Officers from Neighbourhood Policing Team put on extra patrols in Kingsway. The police also spoke with local residents at the Kingsway Local Centre so officers could listen to their concerns and offer additional support in reducing crime.
Gloucester’s Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Si Motala said: "We are aware of concerns by the community that a small group of youths has been seen causing anti-social behaviour in Kingsway.
"This sort of behaviour is not acceptable and we will take action to tackle the perpetrators of these incidents.
"We have put in measures to help residents feel safer in their own homes.
"The community of Kingsway can be sure that we will do everything in our power to protect them and ensure that the full force of the law is brought against those who are creating this disorder.
"I would also reiterate to parents and carers that they need to be aware of where their children are, what they are doing and who they are with."
The local community is being told to stay out of danger and to call 99 if they see any further crimes taking place.
