Overall, 68% of respondents of a recent survey do not think Gloucestershire Constabulary has sufficient resources to address their concerns around crime. And they feel strongly more investment is needed.

The biggest concerns people raised were burglary, drugs, anti-social behaviour, rural and organised crime.

Most people agreed they want to see a more visible police presence on Gloucestershire's streets.

Police and Crime Commissioner Chris Nelson, said: "Over the last few years the Government's increase the police officer across the country by 20,000. I want to see that doubled.

"We need more officers because the nature of crime has changed so much."

PCC Chris Nelson said he agreed the force does need more funding. However, he said any extra investment will have to come out of council tax.
