Police arrest two people in Cheltenham

Officers were called to reports that men in a car were armed with a machete

The incident happened in Springbank area of Cheltenham, yesterday.

Police attended Grenadier Road shortly after 6.30pm with a report that two males in a car were making threats to harm others while armed with a knife.

Shortly afterwards it was also reported that they crashed into an ebike, but no-one was hurt.

Firearms officers conducted searches in the area before locating two men. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and a 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of affray.

They remain in police custody at this time.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are asking anyone with mobile phone, doorbell or CCTV footage to get in contact.
