Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman reported she had been sexually assaulted in a Gloucester park.

The incident happened in Ayland Gardens during the afternoon of Thursday 16 June.

The woman was approached by a man who reached out to touch her without consent.

An altercation between them followed, leaving the man with a scratched face.

The man is described as tanned, 5ft 6in in height, skinny build with a dark, well-trimmed short beard. He does not have a local accent. He was wearing jeans, a light coloured t-shirt and a light blue or faded blue baseball cap.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the park between 12.30pm and 2.30pm last Thursday and may have witnessed the incident or who saw anything suspicious at the time.
