Gloucestershire Police are appealing for information after a memorial bench was vandalised in Stroud at the weekend.

Officers received a report that red paint had been thrown over the bench, commemorating the Second World War, in Park Gardens.

It is believed that it happened in the late evening of Saturday (1 March) before it was discovered at around 12.45am on Sunday.

Police have been to the park to collect evidence and would like to speak to any witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area surrounding Park Gardens from 7pm on Saturday until 1am on Sunday.

Anybody with information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary through their website, quoting incident 41 of 2 March: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us/us/a-crime-that-has-already-been-reported/
