Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision on the M5 last week.

It happened around 11.55pm on Tuesday between junctions eight for Worcester and nine for Tewkesbury - and involved four vehicles - a green Mini hatchback, a white Vauxhall Astra and two HGVs.

Three people were taken to hospital and have since been discharged.

The driver of the green Mini sustained broken ribs and heaving bruising, the driver of the Astra sustained a broken arm and the front seat passenger sustained severe bruising.

All three were taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries and have since been discharged. The drivers of the two HGVs were not injured.

One of the motorists was breathalysed at the scene and found to be over the limit for alcohol. They were not arrested at the time due to needing medical attention so the matter will be dealt with in due course.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam of the Mini being driven in the lead up to the collision.
