There are plans to site caravans at Sudeley Castle for the three day Fantasy Forest festival.

Sudeley Castle has applied to Tewkesbury Borough Council for permission to temporarily change the use of the land in the grounds of the 15th-century stately home near Winchcombe.

The unique independent festival is expected to transform the site as it returns for a weekend of fantasy-themed experiences.

The event, held from July 19 to 21 features entertainment and live music. This year’s festival will feature three stages dedicated to live music, as well as multiple entertainment stages located throughout the castle grounds.

The planning application relates to fields south of the grade I-listed Sudeley Castle. And they propose to sue the land for the siting of caravans and camping over four days in association with the annual Fantasy Forest Festival.

The campsite will be accessible from 10am on Friday, July 19 until noon on Monday, July 22 and will be located to the east and west of the castle.

The public footpaths will be closed during the three-day festival and this has already been approved by the council.

People wishing to comment on the proposals can do so by searching for application 24/00443/CLP on the council’s planning portal. A decision is expected to be made by the council ahead of the event.
