Police appeal for witnesses following fatal collision in Pilning
Emergency services were called to the crash early on Sunday morning
Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a man died in a fatal collision in the small town of Pilning.
Officers first received reports of a collision on Station Road in the town in the early hours of Sunday morning (February 25th).
When responders arrived at the scene shortly after 1:40 a.m., they saw that a van had collided with a parked vehicle.
The driver of the van, a man in his 20s - who was believed to be the only person in the vehicle at the time, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, despite emergency services' best efforts to resuscitate him.
Following the news of his death, the man's family has been informed and they are receiving support from a specially-trained officer from the force.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, with house-to-house enquiries taking place to try and piece together how the collision came about.
The force have now appealed for any witnesses or anyone who may have vital information to get in touch with them as soon as possible.
In particular, officers are welcoming CCTV or dashcam footage from the road in the lead-up to the incident.
