Overnight closures of the A417 have begun as part of ongoing road improvements.

The closure between the Air Balloon Roundabout and A46 Brockworth Junction will help to lay the foundations for new road bridges as part of the 'Missing Link' project.

It will include earth removal at several locations, resurfacing of the carriageway, and the painting of new road markings.

The road is shut between 9am and 6pm from Monday 8 April until Monday 22 April, including at weekends.

A diversion's in place via the A46, A40, A435 and A436.

Drivers are being urged to plan ahead in case of traffic.

The Missing Link scheme is set to be completed by 2027.
