With people spending more time indoors over the festive period, the NHS say COVID and flu vaccinations are the best way to prevent viruses spreading.

Jabs are available to anyone over 65 years old, carers, those with weakened immune systems, pregnant individuals, or anyone living in a care home.

Booking systems will close on 15 December.

The NHS is asking people to get appointments before then.

Sarah Gallagher, the clinical lead of Gloucestershire's vaccination programme, said: "It's really important if you're eligible to get a COVID and flu vaccine.

"Not just to protect yourself but to protect those around you as well."

"It's stopping people getting seriously ill and reducing the transmission."
