Gloucestershire charity welcomes new NHS cancer messaging
NHS warnings on urinal mats will urge men to get checked for cancer.
P-Wave, a urinal company, is teaming up with the NHS to spread the message "Blood in your pee? Contact to your GP practice."
Men are being encouraged to get checked is they have these symptoms.
Pubs, restaurants, shops and sports stadiums are among the places where messaging will be seen.
It is hoped this will increase early detection of kidney, bladder, and prostate cancer.
Joanne Sutherland, CEO of Charlie's, a cancer support charity in Gloucestershire, said: "The earlier we get it the better the diagnosis and treatment can be for people."
"I think men are very good at putting things to one side and thinking it doesn't matter, it is not anything serious, I don't want to bother the doctor."
"For any men that notice any changes, go and speak to a GP don't be afraid to tell them that you suspect you might have cancer."
"With any kind of cancer the earlier the diagnosis the better it is."
