Murder Investigation continues after the death of a man in Gloucestershire

A warrant of further detention has been granted after a man's been arrested on suspicion of murder in Cheltenham.

Gloucestershire Police say a 63-year-old from Cheltenham can now be held in custody for extra time.

It follows the death of an eighty year old man in a house in Cheltenham on Sunday

The police say another man- aged 75, who was also arrested, has been released from custody and will face no further action

Police were called to a house on Welland court at 7pm yesterday to reports a man had been seriously injured.

The victim, an 80-year-old man, was found to have sustained fatal wounds within a property and was declared dead at the scene.

Officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team are in the early stages of an investigation.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place today (Tuesday).
