A man was left needing surgery after reportedly being assaulted by a group of men in Gloucester.
The incident happened on Parliament Street around midnight on Sunday 21st December.
It was reported that the group of five or six men had approached the victim on Parliament Street at around midnight on Sunday 21 December.
Police say one of them asked him for a cigarette and lighter, before assaulting him.
He was left with a broken jaw that required surgery.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who knows the men involved.
At this stage, police are unable to provide a description of the group.
