Man in hospital after collision in Cheltenham

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the Tewksbury road

A pedestrian sustained serious injuries in a collision in Cheltenham last night and police are appealing for witnesses.

The incident happened around 9.20pm on the A4019 Tewkesbury Road when a man was struck by a vehicle.

The man, aged 23, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by paramedics and he remains there in a serious condition. The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and he was uninjured.

Overnight closures had been put in place on the M5, junction 10, southbound exit slip road and the A4019 Tewkesbury Road. The closures were in both directions between Withybridge Lane and the B4634 in Cheltenham. These have since been removed and the roads are now open.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, or anyone who has dashcam footage, to make contact with them. To do so, call them on 101, quoting incident 487.
