Man hit in face with piece of wood in Cirencester

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was hit in the face with a piece of wood in Cirencester.

It's after a man was approached by four teenage boys on Somerford Road on Tuesday evening - who then assaulted him.

It happened on the bridge over the A429 - and left a man in his 50's needing hospital treatment for his injuries.

The group of teenagers, who were believed to be between the age of 15 and 16, ran away in the direction of Trinity Road following the incident.

The main offender had short brown hair and was wearing a blue t-shirt. Another of the boys was wearing a yellow t-shirt.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police.
