Man dies after car driven onto pavement in Gloucester

The pedestrian was rushed to hospital in Bristol, but died from his injuries

A 44-year-old man has died following a collision involving a car driven onto the pavement in Gloucester yesterday morning.

Emergency services were called at around 8.25am with a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car on Finlay Road.

Police say a Mini Countryman had been driven onto the pavement, colliding with the man, resulting in head injuries.

The pedestrian was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he was treated for serious head injuries but he died yesterday afternoon. The coroner and next of kin have been informed.

Police closed the road for most of the day to conduct investigations. It was reopened at 4.30pm.

No arrests have been made.
