Man charged with murder and attempted murder after stabbing in Gloucester
The incident took place on Bedford Street earlier this week
A man is due in court today (May 30) after a stabbing in Gloucester.
39-year-old Kane Kotwica of Longford has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
Three people were taken to hospital after an incident on Bedford Street earlier this week, one later died.
Today will be his first appearance for the case at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court.
Gloucestershire Police said: "The charges relate to an incident that took place on Wednesday 28 May. Police were called to an address on Bedford Street in Gloucester at around 7.40am following reports a number of people had been stabbed at a property.
"Three men were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries.
"One of the men, Matthew Cainey aged 53 and from Gloucester, died from his injuries later that day and a murder investigation was launched by the Major Crime Investigation Team.
"His family are being supported by specially trained officers."
