Man charged in connection with knifepoint robbery at a Cheltenham shop

Several hundreds of pounds worth of cash and cigarettes were stolen

A man has been charged in connection with a knifepoint robbery at a shop in Cheltenham.

Robert Hall, 37, of Wellington Street in Cheltenham, has been charged with one count of possession of a pointed and bladed article and one count of robbery.

Gloucestershire Police said Hall appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates Court over the weekend and was released on bail with conditions.

He is due to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on Tuesday 28 October.

Police added that the charges relate to a knifepoint robbery at a premises on Bath Road in Cheltenham last Thursday (25 September) in which several hundred pounds worth of cash and cigarettes were stolen.
