A man from Cheltenham has been arrested, following a crash between a car and a pedestrian in the town.

Police were called to the incident, on the junction of Lansdown Road and Lansdown Parade, at around 22:50 on Friday 17 December.

The collision left another local man, in his 30s, with serious head injuries. He was subsequently taken to Southmead Hospital, Bristol.

The 42-year-old driver of the Toyota Prius that was involved has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Lansdown Road was closed for several hours, allowing investigation work to be carried out.

Officers are now urging anyone who saw what happened to call 101, quoting incident 477 of 17 December.
