The M5 southbound near Stroud has been closed since the early hours of this morning (31st March) after an incident between Junctions 13 and 14.
National Highways confirmed the incident at 3.53 am.
They say that diversions are in place in the area, although heavy traffic is building up on the route.
It happened when a lorry struck the central reserve and then the nearside barrier, resulting in barrier damage and a significant spill of diesel and hydraulic fluid.
