M5 northbound in Gloucestershire closed following crash

The M5 in Gloucestershire is currently closed northbound following a collision just before junction 8.

Emergency services were called to a report that five cars and an HGV had been involved in a collision at around 11.10am today, Friday 28 March.

It has resulted in the entire northbound carriageway being closed between junctions 9 and 8.

Nobody is understood to be seriously injured but one person has been taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital to be assessed for their injuries.

Officers are currently working to clear the traffic which has built up on the motorway and drivers are advised to find alternative routes at this time.
