The Gloucestershire based Hollie Gazzard Trust are putting on an event for safeguarding leads for all secondary schools in Gloucestershire.

It’s as they say schools are facing unprecedented pressures to keep pupils safe and there are all manner of risks and threats they must factor in.

The event is set to be an opportunity to share resources and provide networking opportunities for those who are tasked with keeping our children safe.

Key topics set to be discussed at this first event include cyber threats, knife crime, emergency planning and maintaining healthy relationships.

CEO of the Hollie Gazzard Trust, Jane Harvey said: “We live in times where knife crime, domestic violence, the capacity to be able to lock down schools to keep pupils safe from threats, those are all real world challenges that our schools in this country, in this county, are having to face.”

She added: “We are, like many people, becoming increasingly aware of the responsibility that is sitting on school shoulders to keep their people safe.

“You only have to look at the news these days to see so many concerning things all around the world that schools are having to manage.”

The event in partnership with SCG is set to educate school staff on how to spot red flags and raise alarms within their school.

The events due to take place on the 16th of October at the TSB Head Office in Gloucester.
