Woman injured after altercation in Gloucester Pub

A woman in her 50s was injured on Saturday in an incident at Northend Vaults pub

Police are appealing for witnesses after a women required surgery on her finger. It is thought a man had bitten off part of her finger. The incident took place on Saturday at around 7.50pm at Northend Vaults on Northgate Street.

The women in her 50s, is thought to have been in the rear outdoor area of the pub when a verbal disagreement started between two separate groups. This then escalated into a physical altercation.

A man of similar age also sustained facial injuries, but did not require medical treatment.

A 24-year-old man from Bristol was arrested on suspicion of assault but was released under investigation.

Gloucestershire Police think people in attendance were from Bristol for the rugby match at Kingsholm Stadium between Gloucester Rugby and Bristol Bears, and police are keen to hear from them too.
