Police appeal for information after van collides with eight year old in Cheltenham

The driver of a transit-style van left the scene after colliding with an eight year old girl.

Police are appealing for information after the driver of a van failed to stop after a collision with a child in Cheltenham.

Officers were called to a report that an eight-year-old girl had been involved in a collision on Swindon Road at around 8.35am.

The driver of the van, described as a Transit type van with a trailer a trailer attached to it, left the scene after the incident occurred.

The girl was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

Police are trying to trace the van and are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch. Drivers with dashcam footage which they believe to be relevant are also asked to contact the police.
