Police appealing for witnesses after assault in Cheltenham

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Cheltenham last night (25/7).

Police were called to the Honeybourne Line footpath at around 7.30pm following reports of men arguing loudly.

They arrived to find three men, one of which had an injury to his leg. Officers said it looked like a slash wound.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Two men, aged 43 and 47, were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody at this time.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who was on the Honeybourne Line around the time of or just before the incident and may have witnessed the group of men and a subsequent altercation.
