Police have made a romantic comedy trailer to highlight the problematic behaviours which constitute stalking.

It has premiered at Gloucester Guildhall's cinema at 9am on Tuesday 6 June.

It's part of Gloucestershire Constabulary's ongoing stalking campaign, with funding for the creation of the film secured by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC).

The two-minute long film takes us through the journey of what appears on the surface to be a 'happy couple', however, the red flags soon appear with unwanted gifts and unexpected visits. Spoiler alert - there is no happy ending.

Police are trying to help victims recognise the red flag behaviour by highlighting the FOUR mnemonic - fixed, obsessed, unwanted and repeated - and find out more about what the Constabulary is doing to highlight and tackle stalking.

This campaign has been funded by the Gloucestershire OPCC with money secured through the Home Office Safer Streets fund.

Since the beginning of May, a series of videos which focus on the experience of a stalking victim have been posted across the Constabulary's social media channels.

In June, the focus will be on the rom-com film trailer, which will be advertised on television and online.

Film poster style artwork encouraging people to recognise the FOUR signs of stalking have been created, and will be advertised in Tesco stores, at bus stops and on the back of buses across the county.

Next month (July) there will be engagement events held across the county, where friends and family can get advice to understand the best way they can support a victim. More of the campaign will be publicised nearer the time.

The trailer has been produced by Affixxius, which produced the Find Your Voice campaign video for Gloucestershire Constabulary in 2022 to highlight misogyny.
