Gloucestershire Cricket share their Unicornfest sculpture
They say they're 'delighted' to be taking part in the latest trail - celebrating 650 years of Bristol
There's less than two weeks until the latest sculpture trail hits the streets of Bristol - Unicornfest.
It's in aid of Leukaemia Care UK, and will see unicorns appearing at a number of landmarks across Bristol and the wider South West.
Gloucestershire Cricket are taking part - and visitors to the Seat Unique Stadium will be able to spot Nevil the Unicorn, featuring famous faces and local legends.
Gloucestershire Cricket is one of more than 40 local businesses that have sponsored a Unicorn, all of which will appear at major landmarks spread across Bristol and the South West.
Jayde Perkin, the artist behind Nevil’s illustration, said: “It’s been so much fun collaborating with the team at Gloucestershire and at Unicornfest to create Nevil the unicorn.
"We wanted Nevil to encapsulate the community of cricket, a space where people of all ages can come together to enjoy summer evenings watching cricket together.”
Nevil will be located just inside the Grace Gates, next to BS7 Gym, at the Nevil Road entrance to the Seat Unique Stadium.
Neil Priscott, Chief Operating Officer at Gloucestershire Cricket, said: “It’s a real pleasure to be a part of Unicornfest and join in with the 650th anniversary celebrations for the city of Bristol. We’ve seen in the past how popular sculpture trails have proved to be in years gone by and we’re very happy to be a part of this unique event.
“Jayde has done an amazing job with the illustration of Nevil. The design encapsulates exactly what a day out at the Seat Unique Stadium looks like; fun for all the family and a great way to spend a summer’s day.”
