Gloucestershire County Council sack staff over racism allegations
Two out of four staff suspended in the summer have been fired
Gloucestershire County Council has sacked two of the four members of staff who were suspended over racism allegations in the summer.
The workers were suspended while the local authority conducted its investigations into multiple instances of alleged racism at Shire Hall.
The council says it has now completed a thorough investigation and has taken appropriate action.
The local authority says it does not tolerate any form of discrimination.
A Gloucestershire County Council spokesperson said: “As soon as we were made aware of these allegations, we carried out a thorough investigation and have taken appropriate action, in line with the county council’s policies.
“We do not tolerate any form of discrimination.”
