A witnesses appeal has been launched by police after a report of a couple being subjected to homophobic abuse in Cheltenham.

At around 9pm on Sunday 26th of May, four men in a red Mini Cooper convertible pulled up alongside the couple on the Promenade and shouted homophobic abuse and threw rubbish at them, before driving off.

The men were described as white and in their late 20's or early 30's.

Both victims were left shaken but uninjured.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, and who have not spoken to officers, to come forward.

They would also like to speak to anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage which they believe to be relevant.
