73 year old, Geoff Kitchen, from Thornbury, died from a suspected heart attack after sudden extreme turbulence on a flight from London to Singapore on 21 May.

For over 35 years Geoff worked with the Thornbury Musical Theatre Group. He held various roles within the group including Chairman, Treasurer, and most recently Secretary.

Tonight and tomorrow night, the group will be performing their show 'Journey Back to the Future' and are dedicating the musical Geoff.

The show's Director, Debz Spinney, said: "He had a real heart for the the community of Thornbury and for the musical theatre group. So it just seem like the right thing to dedicate the performance to him and his memory."

Geoff had been the production co-ordinator for this weekend's show. And the group said it would not be going ahead without his hard work.

Debz Spinney, said: "The whole show would not be happening if Geoff had not done all the background work- booking the hall, getting a sound technician, making sure the programme was done. So he is incredibly important to the whole show and incredibly important to the group."

Speaking about Geoff, Debz said: "He was a real gentlemen, he was such a positive and encouraging person."

The show will be held at Thornbury Methodist Church Hall tonight (31/5) and tomorrow (1/6).
