Gloucestershire Police have appealed for a "good Samaritan" to come forward after he drove a victim to hospital with facial injuries.

Officers want to speak to the man who drove the injured victim to hospital after he was seriously assaulted at a property on Hawthorn Road in Hester's Way.

The driver was passing by when he was flagged down by the victim just before 8pm on Saturday evening (July 27th), when the attack had taken place.

After getting in the car, the driver took the victim to Cheltenham General Hospital for treatment to his injuries.

Following a check-up at the hospital, the victim was transferred to the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to receive more specialised care.

Police have now said that the victim has now been released and is being safeguarded by officers.

Investigations into the incident are now underway, and officers are now keen to speak to the driver to give details on what he had seen in the lead-up to picking the victim up.

Anyone who was also around the area at the time of the attack is also being urged to get in touch with the force as soon as possible.

Two men from Cheltenham - one aged in his 20s, and another in his 50s - have since been arrested following initial lines of enquiry.

The men were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and currently remain in police custody whilst investigations go on.

Those who may have any information or footage of the area at the time of the attack are being asked to get in touch as soon as possible by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number 201 from July 26th.
