Gloucester man charged with rape of elderly woman in her own home
Police have paid tribute to the victim for her "courage" after coming forwards
A man from Gloucester has been charged with raping an elderly woman in her own home.
During the early hours of Thursday 11 November, police were called to an address in Gloucester after the victim activated her personal alarm.
Following an appeal from officers over the weekend, members of the public responded and 32-year-old Brady Hickman was charged.
'Amazing bravery, strength and courage during this process'
Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Detective Sergeant Faye Satchwell-Bennett said: “Specially trained officers continue to support the victim, who has shown amazing bravery, strength and courage during this process.
“She wants to thank our officers and the community for the support she has received".
Mr Hickman is set to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Monday 15 November.
