Gloucester charity warns it is a difficult time of year for rough sleepers
Gloucester City Mission say the festive period is hard for people experiencing homelessness.
The charity explained many people who are experiencing homelessness do not have friends and family to celebrate the festive period with.
They said it is particularly hard for rough sleepers who can see everyone else celebrating.
Kevin Holmes, from the charity, said: "For people who don't have those community networks around them it is quite tough"
He also said some of their clients have alcohol related problems and this time of year can be difficult for them when they see party goers out drinking excessively.
Kevin said: "There's obviously an increase of alcohol consumption and people partying in the city centre and it does make life tough.
"A lot of the rough sleepers say it isn't a time they want to celebrate.
"The guys will have their alcohol taken off them in the day time for anti social behaviour reasons, but they then see a lot of other people drinking and partying in the streets.
"It must be quite tough for them."
