Gloucestershire Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following the fatal stabbing of a woman in Gloucester last month.

Officers were first alerted to an incident taking place on the junction of Paul Street and Tarrington Road in the Tredworth area at around 1:45am on August 27th.

When officers arrived, they found 28-year-old Zanele Sibanda, who had been suffering from a serious stab wound sustained earlier today.

Emergency services were deployed to the area, but despite paramedics' best efforts, Sibanda was pronounced dead at the scene.

A murder investigation was launched by officers, and a man in his 30s was arrested at the scene in connection with her murder.

Officers are now appealing to the public to come forward with information, or who had been in the area and witnessed the attack take place.

The force has released a number of CCTV images of four people who were in the area at the time of the attack.

A fifth man is also being sought, who may have seen the attack, with officers describing him as being white and of a slim build with a bald head. He was wearing a black tracksuit and jacket.

Gloucestershire Police also added that the five men had spoken to police as well as others at the time of the incident.

Speaking on the incident, Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Usher from the force said: " A man has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Zanele Sibanda, however we are still very keen to identify the five potential witnesses.

"They were in or near Tarrington Road around the time of the incident and we believe they may have crucial information that could help with our investigation.

"I would like to stress that we are not treating these people as suspects. If you are one of the people pictured, I would urge you to contact us so that we can identify you, even if you have already spoken to police and provided your details or information."

Anyone who may recognise those in the photos can get in touch with the force by calling 101 and quoting incident 24 from August 27th.
