Gloucester City Council 'unable to accept' some blue sack recycling because of wet weather
They shared the news on social media - with some calling for a redesign of the system

With the flooding and bad weather battering the region over the past few days and weeks, one of our local authorities say they have been having issues with collecting some of our residents' recycling.
In a post on Facebook, they said that the weather - and the recyclables thrown away - has meant it's simply too wet to recycle much of it.
Gloucester City Council says it's 'because the material sticks to equipment when it's sorted into different fibres when being reprocessed'.
They're urging locals to do what they can to protect the recycling from getting too damp, and advise us all to make sure the lid is sealed shut - or even hold on to the recyclable paper and cardboard until the weather dries up.
On social media, people commented on the announcement from the local authority, with some calling for an overhaul of the system - one calling the news an 'absolute joke'.
Commenting on the announcement by the local authority, Del Delaney said: "Seal the had to lid shut? You are having a laugh! We do. It comes undone!
"You must know that using multiple, useless containers is not working out! Just admit you were wrong and give us something decent. We try! We really do!"
Another commenter, Maggie Cassar, said: "The bags should be redesigned so that they're waterproof, or better still a lidded box. After doing exactly as they advised the gaps on the bag are huge, even after tucking everything in tightly and being placed in a protected area, unfortunately mother nature is beyond my control."
One person - Sharon Rudge - simply said: "It's all going in the bin then".
The authority say that an extra sack can be ordered on their website if one it needed.
