The choir has been launched as part of the a three year Arts Council England funded initiative focusing on Ageing with Creativity.

It is an inclusive group welcoming members of any ability to come and find joy through singing.

The group also welcome those living with dementia or memory loss, along with their carers.

Although it is focused on singing, the choir also aims to help people make new friends.

The choir is lead by Fiona Taylor and meets at Longlevens library every Wednesday between 11a.m and 12:30p.m.

Fiona Taylor said: "It's really startling how lovely this group is, they just come together really well as a community.

"It's joyful, for me it's a joyful privilege to see how people are loving it."

Sally Williams, Development Office for Gloucestershire Libraries, said: "We wanted to make a community choir where everyone is welcome.

"It's all about loneliness and isolation and giving people the opportunity to get out and make new friends."

"Having conversations with members we've seen it's the reason people needed to get out and do something

"Music is very powerful and people like to sing."
