Children’s charity WellChild are making over the garden of a 2-year-old boy from Gloucester, who has heart problems, chronic lung disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Louie's family home in Hempsted, Gloucester is unsuitable for him and so he is unable to get outside. But over two days a team of 25 south-west based volunteers are working to transform the garden.

The aim of the project is to create a suitable, safe and accessible outside space where Louis can play, relax, gain independence and thrive.

His mum Lydia said the garden makeover will be lifechanging for Louie and his older siblings.

She said: "For Louie to be able to go outside and make memories with his siblings, and progress and flourish is going to be lifechanging.

"We used to be able to go out spontaneously on days out but that all change once Louie was born, we now spend a lot of time at home so we're very reliant on having a nice outdoor space where we can get fresh air and play."
