A fundraising appeal has been launched by Gloucester City AFC after the home of their kit man was gutted in a 'catastrophic' fire.

In a post online, the club shared photos from the home of Chris Farr following the incident at the weekend which left his 81 year old mother needing hospital treatment.

By this morning, nearly £2000 had been raised already.

The club said: "...we all send her our best wishes.

"As a club, we have unfortunately lost everything from drinks bottles to warm up kit, as well as catapult GPS vests and all the away kit."
