A case, relating to fox hunting charges, involving a man from Cheltenham, is being stopped.

46 year old Oliver Dale, had been charged with three counts of hunting a wild mammal with dogs, contrary to Section 1 of the Hunting Act 2004.

He was due to appear before Cheltenham Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday 14th May).

But the Crown Prosecution Service has told Gloucestershire Police that they're no longer continuing the case, as they wasn't a 'realistic prospect of conviction'.

In a statement, a CPS spokesperson said:

"The Crown Prosecution Service has a duty to keep every case under continuing review.

"Following a further review of the evidence in this case, we concluded there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction and the case was therefore stopped."
