Forest of Dean MP announced as Transport Secretary

The new Prime Minister has finished his first Cabinet reshuffle - bringing some big names like Michael Gove and Suella Braverman back to cabinet.

But Forest of Dean MP Mark Harper has also been appointed to Government.

He'll now be working as the Transport Secretary.

In a tweet, Mr Harper says he's delighted by the appointment and that he "can't wait to tackle the challenges we face".

Other Gloucestershire MP's have congratulated their colleague on the position, with Stroud MP Siobhan Baillie saying she's looking forward to seeing what Mr Harper will do in his role with the Department for Transport
