Man in 50s dies in Forest of Dean crash
The 4X4 he was driving collided with a fuel tanker
Police investigations are ongoing in the Forest of Dean, after a man died in a road crash yesterday afternoon (9th September).
Police were called shortly before 1.20pm, to reports of collision between a Land Rover and a fuel tanker, on the A4136, between the A40 Gloucester turn-off (Huntley) and the Blaisdon turning.
Emergency services attended, including an air ambulance, but a local man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the lorry was uninjured.
In a statement on Thursday evening (9th September), Gloucestershire Police added: 'Road closures were put in place on Velthouse Lane, the A40 at Huntley and A4136 at Church Lane and these are due to remain for the rest of this evening.
'Officers are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are asking for anyone who was travelling in the area and witnessed what happened to make contact.
'Anyone who has dashcam footage of the collision is also asked to contact police.
