Forest of Dean car crash leaves two people with serious injuries

Two people are still in hospital after a car collided with a war memorial in the Forest of Dean last night (Saturday 17th).

Police were called to the A4136 near Longhope at around 9.30pm.

A black BMW 1 Series carrying four people, crashed into a war memorial at the junction on Old Hill.

Everyone in the crash was hospitalised, but only two people - an 18-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman - sustained serious injuries.

Emergency services were called to the scene, where they were then taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by paramedics, one by air ambulance.

Closures have been put in place at Blaisdon and Old Monmouth Road and are expected to stay shut into the afternoon.

The police are asking for anyone who witnessed the crash to complete this form.
