Residents in Severn Ham, Tewkesbury have been told to 'act now' as the Environment Agency warns of flooding to homes, roads, and farmlands.

Currently there are 23 active flood warnings across the county causing havoc on the roads and trainlines.

CrossCountry and Great Western Railway have both reported delays to their services. CrossCountry have said railway lines are blocked due to heavy rain.

Major roads have also faced closures across the day. The A417 at Maisemore has been closed as the River Severn continues to rise.

The Environment Agency is urging drivers to check their routes and not to attempt to travel through flooded roads.

With flooding becoming more common in the area, local businesses are being hit. Whilst farmers are seeing a massive impact on their industry.

Abbey Home Farm, Head Grower, Andy Dibben, says the farming industry is being disproportionately affected by adverse weather conditions.

He said: "We seem to be on the frontline and it's impacting us harder than most other industries."

"Major weather events have long term affects on farmers, this amount of rainfall passing through soil will dissolve nutrients and wash them away."

Further rain is forecast for the next few days.
