Police are appealing for information after a report that a group of men threw lit fireworks into a house in Gloucester before assaulting a man inside last week.
Officers were called to a report of a man being attacked at a property in the Coney Hill area, shortly after 10pm on Thursday 31 October.
It was reported that a group of men had pushed a number of fireworks through a letterbox.
When a man inside the property came out to investigate, he was shouted at by the group, one of whom was armed with a baseball bat.
After the victim went back inside the house, the men began to bang on the front door and, when he answered, he was punched to the face before being kicked in the chest.
He was able to shut the door again and the men threw lit fireworks through open windows before leaving the scene.
It is believed that one of the men had been filming the attack on a mobile phone and officers are now appealing to the public to send them the footage if they have it.
A child was also seen throwing fireworks at the house on the evening of Saturday 2 November at around 8pm.
Additional police patrols have taken place in the area and the people in the house have now been safeguarded. Forensics officers have been examining the scene while house-to-house enquiries have also taken place.
Anyone with information about the incidents or who has relevant CCTV or mobile phone footage is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police.
