Fans reflect on Oasis Gloucester gig as reunion announced

Becky Moore and Stewart McIntosh were at 1995 Gloucester Leisure Centre concert

Liam and Noel Gallagher have confirmed plans for an Oasis reunion, 16 years since they were last on stage together.

The band will play dates in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin throughout July and August 2025.

We've been speaking to fans who saw them at their only gig to date in Gloucester, almost 30 years ago.

Becky Moore was about to turn 18 and nearly missed the concert so she could celebrate her birthday:

"It was supposed to be in September, and then one of the band members was sick, so they put the concert back.

"I was then in a dilemma because I had a night out planned for my 18th birthday and for a brief, stupid moment I didn't know what I was going to do.

"But then I thought, no, I'm going to the concert," she says.

Becky says she still finds it surreal to think Oasis performed at Gloucester Leisure Centre.

"Just being in a sports hall... they might have been literally playing badminton in there earlier in the day. And then you've got what was then one of the biggest bands in the world, in that room," she says.

"You can't quite wrap your head around the fact that they performed there."

For Stewart McIntosh, the gig was his first live music experience.

"I was probably 16. It was my first gig I'd ever been to and my friend sold me the ticket for a tenner," he says.

"I remember it being very busy, with lots of crowd surfers. I couldn't breathe at one point. But I was a huge fan after that; totally hooked."

Stewart says his love of the band even inspired him to learn guitar.

"It started me on my journey to playing guitar. And I remember playing guitar badly, trying to play all the songs off 'What's the Story...' or 'Definitely Maybe'," he says.

And, with tickets going on sale this weekend, Becky tells us she's ready and waiting:

"I'll be up Saturday morning with every device in the house so I can get in the queue. I'll be there."
