Elderly man injured in Cirencester burglary
A man was injured during an aggravated burglary at a house in Cirencester earlier this week and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
It was reported that unknown offenders had forced entry to a property in Perrotts Brook at around 11am on Tuesday (28 June).
A man, aged in his 70s, disturbed three men and was injured after being hit in the face.
He was taken to hospital and received treatment for cuts and bruises.
The offenders made off with a bag of jewellery which was dropped on the drive.
They left in a small silver hatchback and drove in the direction of Cirencester.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify the vehicle and those responsible.
The men were described as being white and wearing dark clothing, one of them was thought to be six foot tall.
Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious people or vehicles in the area.
They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage from the time.
