Three men are in police custody after officers responded to a report of suspicious activity during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 24 July).

Police were called to a building on Bristol Road in Gloucester shortly before 1.20am with a report that a drone had flown over several times causing concerns.

Officers attended and found three people inside the building claiming they had been accidentally locked inside.

Searches were conducted of the group’s vehicle and tools which are believed to have been used to gain entry to the building were found.

The drone was not located within the vehicle which suggested it had been used.

The trio from Birmingham, aged 30, 31 and 34, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary. They remain in police custody at this time while enquiries continue.

Investigating officers are asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area to get in contact.
