Donations from people in Gloucestershire arrive in Poland for Ukrainian refugees
Three trucks worth of donations have been sent over to help those fleeing the country
Three lorries of donations given by people in Gloucestershire have arrived in Poland to help Ukrainian refugees.
Gloucester City Councillors Alastair Chambers and Jaro Kubaszczyk, and resident Łukasz Woloszyn, put a call out last week for donations to take to the war-torn country.
Local artist Russell Haines has travelled over with the trucks to the Ukrainian border in Poland and is documenting the journey.
Speaking to us at an aid point around two miles from the Ukranian border, Russell said: "We're very near the Ukranian border in a small village on the Polish side.
"We've just met one of the lorries which has come from Gloucester and got it through customs.
"It was already dark when we arrived but you could see some people on the side of the road at places whey they were feeding refugees."

Russell added: "I've got very strange and mixed feelings about being here.
"It took us all day but it feels really good to meet up with the vehicle and see where it's going to be distributed.
"There's lot of other trucks arriving from different countries here so we're all just helping each other get donations unloaded."
