Gloucestershire County Council tell us they have been forced to close the A436 near Bourton on the Water after a number of trees fell during Storm Darragh.

Around 20-30 trees are blocking the route with affected section is impassable after gusty winds hit the region over the weekend.

The council says whilst highway teams have been working as quickly as possible it's estimated it could take a week before the road can reopen.

The A436 is closed between Notgrove and the A429 at Whiteshoots Hill - with a diversion in place.

There is a diversion route in place using the A40 and A429.

Jason Humm, Director of Transport and Highways at Gloucestershire County Council, said: "The safety of our residents and road users is our top priority.

"We understand the significant disruption this road closure will cause, and our teams are working around the clock to clear the debris and reopen the A436 as quickly and safely as possible.

"We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during this challenging time."
