'Confused handover' led to Cotswold air crash

Confusion between a student and instructor led to a light aircraft crash at the Cotswold Airport near Kemble last summer - and investigation has found.

It happened in August 2022, while the during a training exercise, with the student flying circuits to practice taking off and landing.

The light aircraft came off the runway during a landing attempt - leaving both the instructor and student with minor injuries.

The plane passed through the airport fence, crossing a road - before coming to rest in a ditch.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch investigation found the crash was caused by confusion between the student and instructor about who was in control.
